HAWKFIT ATHLETES ARE THE BEST
“I
have been training with Kristie for nearly two years. When we started working together, she asked
me my goals. I said the usual things
about fitness and flexibility. But I
said the real goal was to hit the golf ball further. She actually listened to me, and precisely
tailored my workouts to achieve that goal.
She is a student of fitness, and an athlete herself, so she knows how to
design a personalized program. And the
proof is there! My golf shots are nearly 2 clubs longer than before, and often
find myself hitting approach shots with lofted clubs that could not cover the
same distances 2 years ago. It sure
makes the game a little easier! Now, if
she could only fix my short game”
Nine years ago when I was pregnant with my first child, I sought a trainer to help me safely exercise. Because I had previously taught aerobic classes and strength trained with a number of personal trainers and athletes, my standards were high. I met Kristie and was incredibly impressed with her knowledge, professionalism, and positive attitude. She constantly updated me with new information and brought me articles about different aspects of maintaining fitness during pregnancy. Based on her level of experience, I was shocked to learn that I was her first client! Since those first nine months, I have relied on Kristie to coach me through weight loss and another pregnancy, train me to achieve my strength goals, and advise me on the best types of cardio to incorporate into my exercise routine. She is attentive to any health concerns and has remedied many painful muscle injuries. Kristie has also accommodated my busy schedule as a working mother by setting up a weekly exercise circuit for me. During our session she reviews each exercise and instructs me on form, and I then duplicate the workout on my own time throughout the week at the gym. Kristie tracks my workouts and progress and never bores me, as she constantly mixes up the exercises and uses a variety of equipment. Kristie is a committed professional who truly loves what she does and is always pushing herself to learn. She motivates and inspires me to stay fit and healthy and is a wonderful role model to my now eight year old child, who jumps rope and does pushups to be just like Kristie!
I feel so fortunate to have found Kristie. She made me feel comfortable from the first day. Her professionalism and extensive knowledge has changed my life for the better and now working out is an important part of my weekly routine.
Kristie is the real deal in an industry full of mediocre trainers. She is the standard by which any trainer should be measured. Her eyes are on me, not her phone. She comes prepared to every session with a customized workout that's been tailored to my needs. She has created a personalized routine for me that has evolved over the last eight years. Despite my physical ailments (back problems, arthritis), she is continually changing and adapting my workouts hence avoiding injury.
So why Kristie? She's an expert in running and weight training. And has extensive knowledge of anatomy and nutrition. She’s completely reliable, totally accessible and has just the right mix of compassion, hard work and humor. I give her my highest recommendation without reservation.
Eight years ago her intelligence and kindness won my trust. And today I'm still going "strong" with Kristie.

The reason I came to see Kristie was to strengthen my core, lower back and hip flexors to improve my running form and marathon times. Within 6 months I ran my first sub 3:00 marathon and continued to work with Kristie to maintain my fitness level, build upon my strength, remain injury free and stay consistent with running times.
I have been working with Kirstie for 3 years now and cannot recommend her highly enough. She can take you wherever you want to go with your fitness level and she supports clients training towards personal goals and healthier lifestyles. When I first met with Kristie I was a new mom, feeling out of shape and tired and wanted to do get myself back in shape and complete a Sprint Triathlon. She was my biggest supporter. She understands the ups and downs of training for events based on all of her own experiencing running marathons. I have never felt more accomplished or stronger in the years I have been working with her.
In my opinion she stands out from other trainers in the ways she supports strength by gradually increasing the intensity of workouts without making you feel unsafe. She is sneaky, in a good way, and you find yourself working harder and feeling energized by the workouts. Soreness I have felt is the right kind and never the kind that makes you feel defeated or unmotivated. She is willing to help with nutrition and work on weight loss goals, and attend and support her clients on race day. She does it all because she genuinely loves her job and loves to see her clients get stronger and healthier. You can feel her enthusiasm and excitement and the care she takes in coming up with creative exercises.
She is constantly increasing her knowledge base, brings the latest thinking in conditioning to her workouts and does it all in a professional and skilled way. Also she is whip smart, fun to be with, and a solid human being. I'd recommend her to friends, family, and anyone looking for a top trainer in the city.

When I finally decided it was time to stop making excuses and do something about my health, I knew Kristie was the right person to start training with. From the moment I met her, I was motivated to get into shape. Her passion for her work and dedication to improving the health of her clients is clear. She loves what she does and inspires the people around her. She has personalized every workout towards my individual needs and goals. I immediately started to feel different after our first week together and had noticeably more energy. My clothes started to fit better and eventually too big because I was successfully losing weight! Kristie has not only helped me lose inches off my waist, but has transformed my entire body to be slimmer and more toned. She's also taught me that staying healthy is a lifelong commitment. I have Kristie to thank for helping me get healthy and for putting me on the road to being in the best shape of my life!
I have to give Kristie a lot of credit for her expert
training and advice that I have received over the past 9 years that I have
trained with her. Her reputation is sterling and she is highly respected by
everyone in the industry. When I started out, I told her I wanted to
lose weight, get stronger (especially for golf), and have good leg, arm, chest,
and stomach muscles.
Kristie has her Masters in Health Management and Training, so that was very impressive to me and not like other trainers that are athletes turned trainers. In addition she gets certified in many training classes throughout the year. This is truly her PASSION! That plus being a champion award winning runner. She recently won the Women’s category of the 2014 Chicago Quarter marathon. She is the model of perfect health in all aspects of life and truly lives by what she preaches. So if you’re a runner, she has that expertise as well!
When she knew I wanted to get stronger for golfing, she found specific training exercises for golfers. Who would have taken the time and energy to research that and work it into our sessions, Kristie of course!
She is totally organized every time we train using different exercises every session. Her sessions always start with warm-up exercises before getting into the main set. She always ends up with core and ab exercises at the end with final stretches. She keeps me off balance so that my brain has to stay focused and the body has to work in a coordinated fashion to get the exercise correct.
I didn’t know that she taught classes in Kick Box, Spin, Weights, Boot Camp, and soon I was doing her classes as well as training.
All of a sudden, exercise, training, eating healthy, living healthy began to sink in to my normal routine and sure enough, the weight started to drop off. The strength started to show and believe it or not, I started to run some and recently completed the 5K Race to Wrigley at a good pace for my age.
I know it’s all me doing the work but it’s all Kristie doing it with me and showing the right form for every exercise.
I’m lucky and thankful to have a smart, educated, and strong communicator as my personal trainer.
